OONA’s Boundary-Pushing Performance “Look, Touch, Own” at NADA Art Fair

Anna D. Smith Fine Art and Real Estate Broker presents OONA’s provocative “Look, Touch, Own” at NADA Art Fair, a bold exploration of identity and the female body through interactive performance art.

Groundbreaking conceptual artist OONA, a graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins, will showcase her latest performance piece, “Look, Touch, Own,” at the NADA Art Fair in Miami from December 5-9, 2023. This deeply engaging and provocative work invites attendees to explore the boundaries of identity, gender, and artistic expression.

OONA, whose art transcends conventional gender and power binaries, uses her body as a canvas to challenge traditional and contemporary female iconography, advocating for self-determination and the reappropriation of women’s images in a male-dominated art world. Her performance, “Look, Touch, Own,” is a critical exploration of the commodification of the female body, drawing inspiration from historical performances like Valie Export’s Touch Cinema, Marina Abramovic’s The Artist is Present, and ORLAN’s Carnal Art.

The unique performance invites interaction in a profound way, allowing attendees to touch OONA’s scarred breasts and former silicone implants hidden behind a curtain. Each touch triggers the creation of a unique NFT visual artwork generated from the analytical and emotional data recorded during the performance. This daring and immersive experience has elicited a spectrum of reactions from deep introspection to awe, pushing attendees to contemplate their own bodies and identities.

The performance, challenging the conventions of beauty and societal pressures imprinted on women’s bodies, will be a daily feature at the Annka Kultys Gallery booth from 12pm to 1pm throughout the NADA Art Fair. The fair will be held at Ice Palace Studios, 1400 N Miami Ave, Miami, from December 5–9, 2023.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with OONA’s groundbreaking work that questions and redefines our understanding of art, identity, and technology in the contemporary era.
